The Indian River Kontrol Society is an organization dedicated to the enjoyment, promotion and education of model aviation in Brevard County, Florida. IRKS was chartered by the AMA in 1967, incorporated in July of 1977 and became an AMA Gold Leader Club in 1990.
The Valkaria Flying Field is located on the beautiful Space Coast of Florida just a mile from the Indian River Lagoon. The flying field is on the northeast side of the Valkaria Airport. The entrance to the field is located directly off Valkaria Road one mile west of US Highway 1.

Super AWOS WeatherYou only need to complete two steps to become a member of the Indian River Kontrol Society (IRKS). 1. You must first be a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). Below is a list of several ways to get an application to join the AMA. a. You can download one from AMA’s website at www.modelaircraft.org b. You can apply by phone by calling AMA at 1-800-435-9262. Upon request, AMA will FAX you membership confirmation, which can be used as proof of membership. 2. You must register with the FAA at https://faadronezone-access.faa.gov/#/ and take the TRUST test at https://trust.modelaircraft.org/.
